Vehicles in German Town Found Smeared with Nazi Symbols in Human Blood, Law Enforcement Confirm

Police stated they were alerted by a man who noticed a vehicle in Hanau smeared with reddish substance

Roughly fifty automobiles have been covered with what seems to be blood from a person in the German town of Hanau close to Frankfurt, police confirm law enforcement.

Vehicles, exterior walls and mailboxes were defaced, sometimes with swastikas, they announced in a statement.

Police report they were notified during the night on Wednesday evening, when a man observed that a car in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been marked with a reddish liquid.

The substance had been placed in the shape of a Nazi symbol, they reported.

Police then located numerous other marked automobiles and building exteriors in the adjacent neighborhood.

These symbols are illegal in Germany under legislation prohibiting the visible presentation of Nazi symbols.

Officials report initial examinations show the liquid was likely human bodily fluid.

"There is still no indication as to where it came from; authorities are currently not informed of any physical harm in relation with the occurrence," they commented.

City officials said they were trying "to unravel the mystery" and have appealed to the public for tips.

A senior political figure said the incident made him without words and had to be addressed rapidly.

"This act affects the core of Hanau and revives the wounds of the extremist terrorist attack five years ago," he stated on a platform, mentioning the death of nine people by a gunman targeting people of migrant background in February 2020.
